Jeff City Fencing club at Shakespeare in the park : Every year in July the local drama group puts on a shakespeare play in Memorial park. For the last 4 or 5 years, the Jeff city fencing club takes the stage as a kind of warm up just before the play starts. In previous years, we were followed by the local Society for Creative Anachronism putting on a display of their battle prowess. This year they went first. It was hot for us, but how those guys with 70 pounds of armor survived I don't know. This year's play was 12th night, the words remain original, but 70's style music and costumes were used. Tournament 18 Mar 2007 -- Jeff City Fencers : Four fencers from Jefferson City attended the semi-annual beginner's tournament sponsored by the St. Louis Division of the USFA. They took three thirds, so I guess that counts as a first?
