The DragonFlies and Moon Belly Dance troupe and the Vesuvius fire dancers performed at Cooper's landing by the Missouri River on a wonderful mild evening.

The DragonFlies are a local belly dance troupe that embrace the ancient traditions of the dance from a modern perspective. Kandi Grossman is the founder and director of the troupe, as well as the founder and teacher at Moon Belly Dance House in Columbia, MO. DragonFlies, Christ Price and Heather McCammon, joined her to shimmy the Missouri River at Cooper's Landing as the sun set and the moon rose 22 July 2006. Cooper's Landing, a local scenic hot spot, is a meeting ground for artists, singers, musicians and other souls with pure hearts. Vesuvius erupted with a fire show as the grand finale. Two of the members of Vesuvius, Frankie Meddack and Tracy Frank, are also students of Moon Belly Dance Studio. The evening was rich with spirit and awakening.
